How many readers remember that famous line?  It’s from Paul Harvey’s long-running radio show.  He would take a story that we all thought we knew, dig deeper, and tell you what really happened.  He was a broadcaster/radio personality that developed our trust over time for delivering truthful news and stories.  Of course, this was back in the day when if you heard it on the radio, it must be true!  Does that ring true today?  I don’t think so.

I was speaking with a fellow the other day who happens to be a doctor and is turning 65.  He shared with me that in order to educate himself on Medicare he had watched over 100 YouTube videos!   He said he felt fairly confident that he understood Medicare when he came into my office.  In discussing his plan options with him, I realized that he did not understand the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) at all and how it applied to him.  Do you?  He was dumbfounded that so much incorrect information is on the internet today – and he watched over 100 videos!!  And so then, who do we turn to for truthful information?  I have two suggestions:  visit official government websites such as Medicare.gov or MyMedicareMatters.org (sponsored by the National Council on Aging).  Or a trusted insurance advisor, like me.  We’ve been in the business for 20 years and pride ourselves on offering the most honest & up-to-date information we can on matters relating to personal insurance.  We can do this with confidence because we attend numerous carrier-sponsored trainings throughout the year, as well as annual Medicare certifications and biannual FL State continuing education.  We do our research and when necessary, reach out to knowledgeable sources.

Call, click or come in today.  You’ll be glad you did!
